The Premier French Carp and Catfish Fishing Holiday Venue

Etang des Royales - is a 25 acre French carp fishing holiday complex nestled amongst a forest setting in France and comprises of two well stocked fishing lakes one containing carp and the other catfish. The entire angling complex is fenced with a secure set of entry gates, so security is not an issue. There is a large car park and vehicle access around the lake, so if you wish to drop your tackle off at your swim on the main lake, you can.

The main carp fishing lake is 15 acres, has a gravel bottom with plenty of features and an average depth of about 6-7ft with the deepest part reaching 9ft. There are also deep margins allowing the fish to be landed with ease. The bank of the lake is also gravel, lined with mature trees and bushes. There are 14 swims on the main lake, some doubles but most are singles, with a few social ones. You, our customers, will find an excellent head of carp ranging from upper doubles to over the magic 60lb mark, with a large number being over 40lb, with more chance of catching a 40lb+ fish than a double. Few catfish are present, size unknown.

The smaller of the two fishing lakes is approximately 5 acres, also with a gravel bottom, depth between 4-6ft, gravel bank and surrounded by mature trees. We have built 2 double swims on one side of this lake. This lake is our specimen catfish lake with fish to over 100lbs and once again now is available for carp fishing also with carp up to 30lb, definitely a runs water.

Around the house

We have taken great care to keep the whole complex looking like a garden, trimmed all the time, very pleasant to the eye, where you can have an enjoyable walk. And here we try to live in harmony with nature and our pets. Consequently our guests are kindly asked to respect the nature and wild life.

Family holidays

We also haven’t forgot the anglers that would like to bring their family across and have a week away from the madding crowd. The chalet is very close to the bank and also behind the “green gates” there is another world to discover for those ladies that don’t want to spend all their time watching their partners catching big fish… So, a wander around the pretty little town of Vitry-le-François with a good choice of street cafés and shops is very therapeutic on a hot summers day. But for those that like that “something else”, we would strongly recommend Epernay and the charming Avenue of Champagne with the most known Houses in the business. A stop at Moët & Chandon and a visit to the cellars would be very interesting – please have a look at www.moet.com. And to add some adventure, bikers could find suitable country roads, for a few hours escape.
